Calling all women and girls ...
Posted by Nobody on 27 January 2014
We have now entered a team into Division 3 of the Leinster Women's League and we are expecting to make 2014 the Year of the Women for Greystones Cricket, building on the platform of players and coaches established last year.
The team’s goal will be to follow in the footsteps of the mens teams who, having started out with a very small group of players in 2011, now have three senior men’s teams and have repeatedly demonstrated a strong competitive streak, completing the 2013 season as winners of both Divisions 11 and 7.
The first few months of the 2014 are going to be packed with exciting activities, focused mainly on recruiting new members and developing skills. With three of the women's team already having undertaken coaching training, and with the proven support of the men’s coaching team, we think that this is a clear demonstration that club is asolutely committed to skills development for players of all ages and abilities.
Priscilla Pegman will once again be leading the women's team and is looking forward to an exciting 2014 season.
Whether you have played cricket before or not, we'd love to hear from women and girls or all ages who would like to come and play cricket with us. Drop in to our training sessions on Monday nights at Shoreline in Greystones (8:00PM to 9:30PM) or contact any of the committee members to find out more.
